Township office temporarily closed

Due to COVID 19 concerns and restrictions, the Township Treasurer’s office and Clerk’s office will temporarily be closed until further notice. The hall will also be closed to outside group usage until further notice. If you have any questions or requests during this time, you may call the office at 524-7377 for additional information on how to further contact main office staff, or email the clerk at laclerk@up.net. Notice of Public Budget Hearing

The L’Anse Township Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed township budget for fiscal year 2020-2021 on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at 3:00 pm at the L’Anse Township Hall, 126 N. Main Street.

*The property tax millage rate proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing.

A copy of the budget is available for public inspection at the L’Anse Township Office, during open office hours.

This notice is posted in compliance with PA 267 of 1976 as amended (Open Meetings Act) MCLA 41.721 (2) (3) and the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).

The L’Anse Township Board will provide necessary reasonable auxiliary aids and services such as signers for hearing impaired and audio tapes of printed materials being considered at the meeting to individuals with disabilities at the meeting upon three (3) days notice to the L’Anse Township Board.

The Public Accuracy Test for the March 10, 2020 Presidential Primary will take place in the L’Anse Township Hall on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 9:00 am.

Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 5:00 pm

The meeting will take place following the regular monthly meeting, in order to approve election inspectors for the purposes of conducting the Tuesday, March 10, 2020 Michigan Presidential Primary Election.
